SPRUCE RUN was bought as a yearling at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Yearling Sale sale, was broken by Bryan Rice, and trained by Linda Rice and her assistant, Sam Randazzo. Now six years old and still in excellent condition we look forward to the best year of his career. With earnings approaching $300,000, Spruce Run is leading money winner for his sire, Repriced. SPRUCE RUN has been very consistent at being in the money (nearly 65% of the time including 10 stakes) and has won 6 races in 32 starts including 3 stakes (Restoration, Spend A Buck, and Bob Harding). Spruce Run stalks the pace in most races but he has also been successful on the lead or closing in the stretch. SPRUCE RUN has also run a few races on the dirt with very little success. Although he doesn't sparkle in his workouts, SPRUCE RUN has plenty of heart when he matches up with competition in a race.

SERENE VALOR, f, 3 (REAL QUIET - AUDACITY by CHIEF'S CROWN)

Serene Valor is a homebred foaled in Kentucky during the Mare Reproductive Loss Syndrome which struck during the foaling season of 2001. She was the first foal of Audacity by Classic winner, Real Quiet. Breaking and early training were performed by Bryan Rice and she was turned over to Barclay Tagg for her two year old campaign. After showing some speed in her first maiden races, she was tried on the turf and going a route of ground with little success. Serene was sent to Tampa to test the competition there. Still failing to break her maiden in Florida, she was transferred to Monmouth Park to be trained by Jane Cibelli for the summer season. Hopefully you will see Serene Valor in the winner's circle with us real soon.

Later in the year the two year-olds will join the racing stock as they near their first race.
